Singer, entertainer and actor, Joel Denis, by his real name Joel Laplante,was born in Montréal.
Between
1962 and 1965, Joel hosts with Pierre Lalonde, the popular show “Jeunesse d’aujourd’hui” (CFTM-10). He also holds the top charts with the songs “Ya Ya”, “Hey Hey Lolita” and “Quoi de neuf pussycat”, and in 1965 he appears in the movie “Pas de vacances pour les idoles”.
The talented Joel Denis never stopped his artistic pursuit, as he continues to sing, host and produce important cultural event all over Québec. For instance, in February 2007, Joel is on the Montréal Casinos’ posters and the critics are highly regarding his appearances, as he returns to the classic French “chansonette”. In the summer of 2007, Joel Denis brings the house down as 200.000 people sing along to the mega-hit “Ya Ya” at the National Day in Québec City”.
As of September 28th 2008, Joel will start hosting his weekly radio show on CHAI-FM.
Furthermore, the 2008 will end with a super show “Joel’s Christmas Party” on December 19th at Centre Bell. As Joel Denis’ most recent product “Bingo à Joel” is just released in stores, everyone is invited for an evening of karaoke and bingo hosted by Joel Denis, with the contribution of many extraordinary guests.
Joel works on releasing also a new disk in 2009.
